Democratic
Veterans' Caucus
Activity
History
Purpose
NC Vets has members from all age groups and
eras of service, from WWII to Afghanistan and
Iraq. You do not need to be a registered
Democrat or a resident of North Carolina to
join. Membership is free, but contributions to
defray operating expenses are gratefully
received.
Our priorities in 2008 include registering voters,
assessing and supporting candidates, and helping to get
out the vote. We will continue to challenge the false
stereotype of Democrats as "weak" on national security
issues--if not downright unpatriotic. We will educate
ourselves and others about how to
really "support the
troops."
The caucus was founded in 2005 by former
members of NC Veterans for Kerry. It is open to
all members of the armed forces, past and
present, and to their relatives. The caucus is not
an official auxiliary of the North Carolina
Democratic Party, but may become one in the
future.
About the Caucus
Members of the Democratic Veterans' Caucus of
North Carolina (NC Vets) believe in personal
responsibility, shared sacrifice, and leadership
by example. Through our organized
participation in the political process, we strive to
elect public officials who share these values.
